Hytale launched just a week ago, but it’s already proven incredibly popular, securing funding for the next two years of development and gaining over 2.8 million players. The game also has a thriving modding community, with more than 1,900 player-created modifications available on CurseForge.
However, one player has gone above and beyond what most people anticipated this early in Hytale’s development.
A Twitter user named @iamcxv711 has successfully combined Minecraft Bedrock, Pocket, and Java editions with the game Hytale. This allows players to share a single world across both games, featuring cross-game chat, coordinated animations, and functioning water and lava effects.
Minecraft pushed beyond its limits

I used to run a Minecraft server for a group of online friends when getting the Bedrock and Java versions to play together was still new and tricky. It wasn’t flawless and had its drawbacks, but it was a remarkable project built and maintained by the players themselves.
A few years later, the original concept has developed into something even more impressive. Minecraft and Hytale can now be played together, although it’s still in a very early, experimental stage. It’s too soon to say for sure, but the progress made is remarkable.
Hytale had a unique path to release. It was first developed and then bought by Riot Games, who later decided to cancel the project. Eventually, the original developers bought it back and finished it themselves, leading to its eventual launch.
Despite that turbulent path, Hytale is now live and performing exceptionally well.
Minecraft has collaborated with other games before. For example, it previously connected with Roblox, a platform with over 300 million monthly players, through a community-created project called Mineplay. This project, built by Willem Development, let players from both games build together, demonstrating the power of player-led creativity.
Other impressive Hytale mods

Wow, Hytale is really taking off! It’s only been a week since it went into early access, and already they’ve released an update. But the coolest part? The modding community is incredible – they’re already doing amazing things with the game, taking it way further than anyone expected!
We’ve previously shown projects like running Doom inside Hytale. Now, we have something even more impressive: a working Windows 95 environment that you can actually use within the game.
It’s even possible to run games like Minecraft *within* Hytale, and even Hytale within itself! This makes you wonder just how powerful the platform could be – is there anything it *can’t* run?
It’s amazing how much @iamcxv711 has accomplished, especially considering the short timeframe. A special shout-out also goes to tr7zw, who created the impressive feat of getting Doom to run inside Minecraft. Both of them deserve a lot of praise for their work.
