Missed Call cast: Who stars alongside Joanna Scanlan?

Get ready to clear your schedules this week as 5 thriller Missed Call continues to air nightly.

The new series began last night, immediately plunging viewers into a worried mother’s plight. Sarah (Joanna Scanlan) became frantic when she couldn’t reach her daughter, Katie (Emily Coates), who was on a school trip in Saint Michel. Sarah was especially concerned after receiving a missed call from Katie late at night, leaving her unsure what to do.

Sarah travels to France hoping to uncover the truth, but people are hesitant to help her. The mystery surrounding Katie remains unsolved, and the show’s lead actor, Scanlan, has hinted at a disappointing conclusion, telling TopMob that a satisfying resolution isn’t assured.

The story is complex, and when Sarah arrives in the village and stirs things up, a lot of deeply disturbing secrets and problems come to light. It’s actually much more intense and unsettling than it initially seems.

But who’s who in the cast? Read on to find out more about the stars of 5’s Missed Call.

Joanna Scanlan as Sarah Gleason

Sarah is a mother whose life is turned upside down when her daughter goes missing during a school trip. Frustrated by the lack of concern from people in the Saint Michel area, she takes it upon herself to investigate what happened.

You know, when I heard about this character, the actress Scanlan explained it perfectly to TopMob. She said they needed someone really direct, someone who just says things how they are. And this character has tons of energy and is naturally optimistic, which makes it fascinating to see how she’d handle a tough situation. She definitely has a tendency to overdo things sometimes, to push the boundaries, but honestly? I see her as a bit of a hero – that kind of person who just goes for it, flaws and all.

You might recognize Joanna Scanlan from shows like The Thick of It, The Larkins, Getting On, No Offence, and the film After Love. More recently, she’s appeared in Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, Riot Women, and Slow Horses.

Rupert Graves as Jason Bradley

Jason is Sarah’s boyfriend, and their relationship is progressing nicely. However, a difficult situation arises when Jason drives Sarah’s daughter, Katie, and her classmates to France on a school trip.

You might recognize Rupert Graves from his work in popular shows like Sherlock and Riviera, or from films such as A Room with a View. He’s also appeared in The Burning Girls, Surface, and Washington Black.

Robert Lindsay as Andrew Taylor

Andrew is a man who currently lives in Saint Michel. He originally comes from the UK, where he had a thriving career. He married a French woman, but she sadly passed away, leaving him to raise their daughter, Virginie, who is now a detective.

You might recognize Robert Lindsay from shows like My Family, GBH, Hornblower, and his more recent roles in Sherwood and Generation Z.

Dean Fagan as Neil Scott

Neil is the teacher accompanying the children on their trip to Saint Michel, along with the bus driver, Jason. When Katie disappears, suspicion quickly falls on everyone, including Neil.

Many viewers wonder where they recognize Dean Fagan from. He’s most famous for playing Luke Britton on the British soap opera Coronation Street between 2014 and 2018. Beyond that, he’s also known for his work in the series Smother, and has appeared in shows like Midsomer Murders and Time, as well as the film Gladiator II.
