The popular comedy show Mock the Week is doing well and will be back with more episodes this summer. This is because the news is expected to stay unpredictable and provide plenty of material for the show.
Dara Ó Briain hosted this popular comedy panel show for 17 years on BBC Two before it was cancelled in 2022. Luckily, it didn’t stay off the air for long.
TLC brought back the show earlier this year, and it was well-received by audiences. The new season featured the returning host, Ó Briain, alongside new regular panelist Rhys James.
TLC’s parent company, Warner Bros Discovery, is adding even more episodes of Mock the Week. They’ve already renewed the show for a second season, set to premiere in September, and are now creating five extra episodes to air this summer.

With the Prime Minister facing difficulties, global oil supplies dwindling, and a famously unpredictable World Cup just beginning, Ó Briain joked that it all made for a perfect time to return. He announced, ‘Of course we’re back!’
Given the constant stream of surprising and often unsettling news stories, and with no indication things will calm down soon, “Mock the Week” is sure to have plenty of material – and spark plenty of debate – during its summer episodes.
A shorter summer series of Mock the Week, with five episodes, starts on TLC at 9pm on Sunday, June 7th. While the guest comedians haven’t been announced yet, TLC says to expect plenty of familiar faces from the UK comedy scene.
Last season’s show featured popular comedians like Hugh Dennis, Russell Howard, Sara Pascoe, Katherine Ryan, and Ahir Shah, as well as many other talented performers.
Graham Lafferty from Warner Bros Discovery announced they’re excited to team up with Angst Productions to bring viewers additional episodes of Mock the Week this summer on TLC.
After the elections in May and the FIFA World Cup hosted in North America, viewers can look forward to another season of hilarious satire, drawing humor from current events and the constantly shifting news cycle.
Mock the Week is available to stream on TLC via Discovery+ and HBO Max.
