Modern Family’s Ariel Winter Is Nolan Gould’s Roommate After Breakup

These Modern Family costars are now modern-day roommates.

Just four days after confirming her split from boyfriend Luke Benward, whom she’d lived with in Nashville since 2022, Ariel Winter shared that her former onscreen brother, Nolan Gould, is now her roommate in Los Angeles.

Ariel recently shared with People magazine that she and her Modern Family co-star, Nolan Gould, are actually roommates. She joked that she gets asked all the time about a Modern Family reboot, but they’re already living together in real life!

The 28-year-old described their living situation as similar to a small-scale version of the TV show Modern Family, saying they see each other every day.

Ariel believes people would enjoy watching her and Nolan’s real life just as much as they enjoyed watching the fictional Dunphy family on their reality TV show.

Honestly, it’s really funny when we watch shows like Temptation Island together at night,” she said. “We’ve considered sharing that with others because we think people would enjoy it.

Before giving her address to the 27-year-old, Ariel—who recently mentioned she and her ex remain close friends—had described her strong relationship with her co-star, who plays her brother on screen.

In May 2025, she told People magazine that she and Nolan are very close. He played her younger brother in a project, and they remain best friends.

Ariel also formed close bonds with her fellow actors, such as Julie Bowen, Sofía Vergara, and Jesse Tyler Ferguson.

She described the cast as a true family, and admitted it was difficult when the show ended in 2020. It felt strange realizing they wouldn’t see each other regularly anymore, like suddenly realizing, ‘We won’t be together on set every Monday?’

And now Ariel gets to have a piece of that family with her every day.
