A new trailer has revealed that season 2 of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters will premiere soon, and Kurt Russell will be returning to the show.
The Apple TV+ show, featuring a story that jumps between the past and present, will be back on February 27, 2026, with its first new episode. The series follows two siblings as they investigate their father’s legacy and a mysterious group called Monarch, which leads them into a dangerous world filled with monsters.
Subsequent episodes will air every Friday until 1st May.
Okay, so season two is going to be wild! It starts right after the crazy ending of the last season, with everyone – both the good guys and the bad – heading to Skull Island. And get this – a brand new Titan, a legendary creature from the depths, is about to emerge. I’m seriously excited to see what happens!
Old events continue to impact the present, complicating relationships between family, friends, and enemies, all while a major crisis looms.
The trailer offers the first glimpse of the massive Titan causing destruction, and hints at the return of Kong, who briefly appeared at the end of the first season.
The footage also shows Russell back in action as the older version of Lee Shaw.
Fans might be surprised to learn what happens next, considering the first season ended with Shaw’s fate uncertain. He stayed behind to repair a problem with the portal, and ultimately fell from the ship into the Hollow Earth.
He explained that he wanted to truly show how heartbreaking this experience was for both of them.
It was crucial that Wyatt recognized her potential right away, because their connection developed incredibly slowly – it’s the very definition of a slow burn. Honestly, I don’t think anyone saw it happening.
“And then it just gets heavier and heavier and heavier for her. So that’s what drove us.”
Joining Russell for the second season are Wyatt Russell, Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Joe Tippett, and Anders Holm.
The second season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters will arrive on Apple TV+ on February 27, 2026. You can currently watch season one by subscribing to Apple TV+.
