The summer movie season kicks off with plenty of action and fighting thanks to Mortal Kombat II (2026). The follow-up to the 2021 Mortal Kombat reboot is hitting theaters soon, and excitement is building. Early viewers are already saying it’s a significant step up from the first movie, and having Karl Urban (from The Boys) as the lead is a major plus. The release is also benefiting from being timed alongside the new Street Fighter movie, creating extra buzz.
For over 30 years, the Mortal Kombat movies have been a fixture in popular culture, and one song truly captures their spirit. The creators of the new Mortal Kombat II film understand this, and have just released a track designed to celebrate the iconic music of the MK series.
Listen To Mortal Kombat II‘s “Techno Syndrome (2026)” Track
Paul W.S. Anderson’s 1995 Mortal Kombat movie introduced a now-iconic theme song. “Techno Syndrome (Mortal Kombat)” by Austin Jones & The Immortals became a huge international hit and one of the defining techno tracks of the 90s. It’s become deeply associated with the Mortal Kombat franchise and has been covered and remixed many times, including this new version by Olivier Adams.
Mortal Kombat II will be released in theaters on May 8th.
