Usher and Aimee Proal, and “From a Logical Point of View” by Jensen Ackles. The collection includes a total of 15 original songs and boasts beautiful cover art by Tobin. The Music of The Boys Was Was One Of It’s Biggest Strengths

One of the most enjoyable aspects of the show The Boys is its unique world – a version of our own where superheroes are real. This makes the show’s music, both within the scenes and as background score, particularly captivating, according to Mo Shafeek, co-founder of Mutant. He praises the work of Christopher Lennertz, Matt Bowen, and their team over five seasons, and Mutant is proud to release the show’s music to the public.
Artist Matt Ryan Tobin describes the show as intensely emotional, swinging between disgust, laughter, and heartbreak. He believes The Boys expertly manipulates viewers’ feelings like no other show, and that the music plays a crucial role in driving those emotions so effectively.
Composers Christopher Lennertz and Matt Bowen describe the new ‘Best of The Boys’ vinyl as a celebration of the show’s musical journey over five seasons. They explain that revisiting the score reveals how it matured, becoming darker, stranger, and ultimately finding its unique voice. They feel Season 5 represents the culmination of everything they learned, resulting in a bigger, more emotional, and more intense score than ever before – a fitting soundtrack for the finale.
Lennertz also highlights the increasing importance of original songs in ‘The Boys’ storytelling. Building on the success of previous songs, they aimed even higher for Season 5, crafting a song to drive a major plot twist. When Daveed Diggs was cast, Lennertz immediately suggested he perform the song, and ultimately co-wrote it with Diggs to capture the character’s voice. The resulting song, ‘Raise Him Up,’ became a bold and soulful anthem of defiance, perfectly representing the climax of Homelander’s story.
