The animated series My Adventures With Superman is returning for a third season on June 13th, bringing back Superman to Adult Swim. This season, Clark Kent will face a new challenge in Metropolis with the “Reign of the Supermen” storyline, and the Daily Planet will also be back. Cartoon Network is also planning to expand its take on the DC Universe by introducing a new hero – a character known for wielding a green power ring. Showrunner Jake Wyatt recently hinted that the upcoming spin-off series focusing on this character will be a surprising take on the classic hero.
The upcoming series, My Adventures With Green Lantern, will follow Jessica Cruz as she begins her journey with the Green Lantern Corps. The showrunner, Wyatt, revealed she’ll first appear in season three of My Adventures With Superman. He recently told Entertainment Weekly that the new series is taking inspiration from a different anime within the Toonami block than My Adventures With Superman, which is heavily influenced by Dragon Ball Z. While he hasn’t revealed the specific anime, he promises viewers will quickly recognize the inspiration when promotional materials are released, stating they aren’t being subtle about it. Many fans believe Sailor Moon would be a perfect fit for the tone and style of this new Green Lantern series.
A Certain Shade of Green

I’m really excited about what DC Studios has planned! Before we see Santa Cruz compete, they’re releasing a live-action series about Hal Jordan and Jon Stewart, two of the most well-known Green Lanterns. It’s called Lanterns and will be available on August 16th. The series will delve deeper into the Green Lantern Corps, especially since we’re already getting a look at Guy Gardner in the Superman movie coming out in 2025. Although the animated My Adventures With Green Lantern exists in its own separate world, I expect Lanterns will stay true to the comic book source material and connect to the upcoming live-action series.
I’ve been following the buzz around My Adventures With Superman, and it sounds like a fourth season isn’t guaranteed yet. The showrunner, Jake Wyatt, is hopeful though, and he recently shared that he’s meeting with James Gunn and Peter Safran at DC Studios to pitch ideas for what they could do with another season. He’s also encouraging fans to show their support by watching the show on Adult Swim, Toonami, and HBO Max – he believes that fan engagement could be key to getting a season four greenlit.
