The main My Hero Academia series didn’t have room to tell this complete backstory. It’s a lengthy arc found in My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, and its length is likely why it was left out. The main My Hero Academia story prioritized Deku’s journey and the heroes’ preparation for the final battle, leaving little room to explore this backstory.
