The anime series My Hero Academia concluded in fall 2025, but a special episode was later released, adapting an extra chapter from the final volume. This episode didn’t focus on big action scenes; instead, it showed what everyday life looked like for the former students of Class 1-A. It emphasized the challenges they faced as they grew up, particularly how hard it had become to simply get together. The episode explored the ordinary struggles of adulthood and ended with a romantic development: Deku finally decided to pursue a relationship, and he and Uraraka confessed their feelings for each other.
The recent ending to My Hero Academia wasn’t groundbreaking, but it surprisingly improved the overall finale and felt like a natural conclusion. This approach could be really helpful for Chainsaw Man, another popular manga that recently finished its second part to widespread disappointment. Many fans were hoping for a continuation, and while that might not happen, an upcoming extra volume could learn from My Hero Academia’s ending and offer a more satisfying resolution to Chainsaw Man’s abrupt finish.
My Hero Academia’s New Ending Structure Could Help Chainsaw Man Somewhat Redeem Its Ending

The final volume of Chainsaw Man will be released on June 4th, and it will include bonus content. Fans estimate there’s room for about 12 extra pages – enough for almost a whole new chapter. Instead of trying to add to the ending or explain it further, these pages should show Denji finally getting the simple life he always wanted. More than most characters, Denji just desired basic comforts: regular meals, clothes, and a place to live.
Once Denji secured the basic necessities, he started wanting a girlfriend, which seemed to be about wanting genuine affection, even though he often said he only wanted physical intimacy. A time skip, similar to the ending of My Hero Academia, could be a great way to show Denji content with his life and ready to pursue romance. This would give creator Tatsuki Fujimoto the chance to pair him with someone like Asa or the popular character Reze, allowing them to develop a mature and loving relationship. After so much chaos and upheaval in the story, a simple, everyday conclusion might be exactly what Denji needs.
I’ve been following Chainsaw Man, and it’s clear the author, Tatsuki Fujimoto, could really throw us for a loop with one last twist. They could reveal Denji was always under Makima’s control, living in a fabricated reality – a truly shocking move that would fit the story’s chaotic nature. Honestly, at this point, many fans – myself included – seem open to almost anything. A more subdued, realistic ending, similar to what we saw in My Hero Academia, might even help salvage what’s shaping up to be another disappointing conclusion from Shonen Jump.
