Prime Video Shares Supernatural Cut of The Boys Season 5’s Reunion (& It’s as Hilarious as the Real Thing)

As a huge fan of both The Boys and Supernatural, I was so excited to see Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Misha Collins reunite on screen in Season 5, episode 5! It was hilarious watching their characters – Soldier Boy, Mister Marathon, and Malchemical – try to take down Homelander, especially seeing their usual dynamic totally flipped. It was a fun nod to Supernatural and showed us a completely different side of these actors. But the best part? They actually filmed the whole scene as Dean, Sam, and Cas first! Prime Video just released that alternate footage, and it’s a dream come true for any Supernatural fan. It’s just brilliant to see them back together in those roles, even for a little bit.

Prime Video posted a special version of the Boys reunion scene on X, reimagined with elements from Supernatural. It’s just as funny as the original, and maybe even funnier for fans of Supernatural. The scene begins similarly, but instead of attacking Homelander with poison gas, the character played by Collins knocks him out with the iconic angel touch used by Castiel.

Sam and Cas try to convince Dean that Homelander needs to go, with Sam pointing out that the Democratic Church of America is disrespecting their father figure, Chuck. Cas adds that they might ban Dean’s favorite show, Supernatural. This scene cleverly mirrors dialogue from the original The Boys scene, and Jensen Ackles perfectly captures Dean’s relaxed and hesitant personality. He jokingly says, “I feel like I should call Dad,” which is funny given Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s role in The Boys as well. Ultimately, Dean decides he likes Homelander too much, appreciating his patriotism, and sides with the superhero despite his friends’ objections.

The Supernatural Version of The Boys’ Reunion Makes a Great Case for Supernatural Season 16

This funny alternate version of The Boys Season 5 playfully celebrates the TV show Supernatural, and it’s a fun reminder of how well Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, and Misha Collins work together. It really makes you wish there was a Season 16 of Supernatural! They clearly still have great chemistry and can effortlessly fall back into their old roles with humor and charm. If Supernatural were to come back on a network that allowed more mature content, it would be even better. This scene from The Boys proves that, and leaves fans hoping to see these actors reunite again.
