NBA Star James Harden Arrested, Charged With Unlawfully Carrying Gun

James Harden is facing legal trouble.

An NBA player was arrested in Houston, Texas on June 13th for illegally carrying a weapon, as shown in court documents from Harris County.

James Harden, 36, was arrested in downtown Houston around 3:40 a.m. Eastern Time after police stopped his car and found a handgun visible inside, not secured in a holster. The Cleveland Cavaliers guard was charged with a misdemeanor and later released on bail, as reported by the Houston Chronicle.

Court documents state that Harden is not allowed to have any guns, bullets, or other weapons. He also needs to take random drug tests and can’t use or possess alcohol, illegal drugs, or even marijuana (unless a doctor prescribed it), all before his court date on June 22nd.

TopMob News has reached out to Harden’s representative for comment but has not heard back.

The Cavaliers confirmed the arrest of James Harden, who joined the team earlier this year in a trade with the Clippers, with an official statement.

The Cleveland Cavaliers released a statement saying they’re aware of James Harden’s arrest and are currently collecting more details. They’ve been in touch with Harden and his representatives and will continue to follow the situation as it unfolds, but won’t be making any further comments at this time, according to ESPN.

James Harden began his NBA career in 2009 with the Oklahoma City Thunder, where he played for three years before being traded to the Houston Rockets. He later played for the Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers, and was then traded to the Los Angeles Clippers in 2023.

He joined the Cavaliers in February, but they were recently defeated by the New York Knicks in the playoffs.
