2025 was a fantastic year for anime, bringing back popular series like Solo Leveling, Dandadan, and The Apothecary Diaries, alongside exciting new shows like Sakamoto Days and Witch Watch. But 2026 promises to be even better! The Winter lineup alone features the return of beloved favorites such as Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, Jujutsu Kaisen, Hell’s Paradise, Fire Force, and My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, and that’s just the beginning. The entire year looks set to deliver some truly amazing anime.
I’m so excited to see how much more involved Netflix is getting with anime! It’s a booming industry, and as one of the biggest streaming services, they already have a ton of amazing shows. While we’re all eagerly waiting for our favorites to come back next year, Netflix is constantly adding new series too. But unfortunately, it’s not all good news – What’s on Netflix recently reported that over 100 Originals, including some fantastic anime, are leaving the platform soon. It’s a real shame to see some of these go!
Seven Anime Are Leaving Netflix in 2026

Netflix is removing a lot of popular and highly-rated anime series soon, including some all-time favorites like Mob Psycho and the original Sirius the Jaeger. Here’s a complete list of the shows leaving, along with when they’ll be gone.
- Sirius the Jaeger (April 6th, 2026)
- Mob Psycho 100 (May 22nd, 2026)
- From Me to You: Kimi ni Todoke (July 1st, 2026)
- Fate/EXTRA Last Encore (August 1st, 2026)
- Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress (September 13th, 2026)
- Forest of Piano (September 28th, 2026)
- Kuromukuro (October 4th, 2026)
Currently, seven anime titles are slated for removal, but that number could increase as the new year begins. These anime are leaving because Netflix’s agreements to show them are expiring. Often, Netflix also removes shows that aren’t very popular to save money and keep the library manageable. Renewing a license is always possible, but it’s impossible to predict if or when a show will be available again.
Shows like Sirius the Jaeger and Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress don’t get the attention they deserve, which puts their chances of continuing the story at risk. However, Netflix is bringing back From Me to You: Kimi ni Todoke for a new season after over ten years, proving that popular shows can return. This means there’s still hope that some of these other series might also get another chance down the line, even if it takes a while.
