The live-action adaptation of One Piece is back for its second season on Netflix, and the creators are aiming to release future seasons quickly. One Piece: Into the Grand Line sees Luffy and his crew venturing into a perilous new area, but it only covers a small portion of the extensive story from Eiichiro Oda’s original manga. There’s a wealth of content still available for upcoming seasons, but time is a factor.
The team behind the live-action One Piece series has a huge amount of source material to work with, potentially spanning decades. However, the actors involved recognize they won’t be able to play their roles indefinitely. Emily Rudd, who plays Nami, told Collider this creates pressure to move quickly with production. Despite the challenge, the cast and crew are enjoying the process and are eager to bring the story to life.
Netflix’s One Piece Wants to Release New Seasons Fast

Paul Rudd explained that production was temporarily halted due to the strikes, but the team is eager to get back to work on the show. Everyone enjoys making it, and they believe fans are excited for more. While a lot of the show is filmed practically, there’s still significant post-production work needed. The cast and crew are committed to finishing as quickly as possible, and other stars echoed this feeling.
I’m so hyped about what’s next for the show! Taz Skylar, who plays Sanji, let us know there was a lot of pressure to get new episodes out quickly, but thankfully, everyone involved – including Jacob Romero who voices Usopp – is really committed to maintaining the quality we all love. Jacob explained they’re eager to keep the excitement going, and because the cast gets to read the scripts and be involved in the process, we have a sneak peek at what amazing things are coming – and trust me, we’re just as thrilled about it as you are!
What’s Next for Netflix’s One Piece?

Creating these shows is a huge undertaking – from designing the worlds and costumes to constructing the sets and writing the scripts – and maintaining a high level of quality is essential. We’re aiming to produce content as quickly as possible without compromising that quality. We’re really refining our approach to blending CGI and practical effects, becoming more efficient and achieving amazing results. However, how long the show will continue remains to be seen.
Netflix is currently making Season 3 of the live-action One Piece series, but it’s unclear if the show will continue beyond that. Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece, has shared his vision for the story’s ending with the cast, and it will happen well before the live-action adaptation reaches the final arc. The manga has been running for 30 years and shows no signs of finishing soon, so it’s uncertain whether the series will be able to cover everything. It remains to be seen if the show will get that far.
