Get ready for new gameplay footage of 007 First Light! 2026 is shaping up to be an amazing year for video games, with highly anticipated titles like GTA 6, Marvel’s Wolverine, and potentially even Half-Life 3 if the rumors are true. Adding to the excitement is 007 First Light, which will be the first new James Bond game in almost 15 years. The series had stalled after the disappointing 007 Legends in the early 2010s, but IO Interactive impressed the rights holders with their vision for bringing James Bond back to the gaming world.
So, we finally got a good look at 007 First Light earlier this year, and honestly, I was pretty hyped! It was first announced way back in 2020, but since then, it’s been totally under wraps. The surprise announcement happened before IO Interactive was really far into making the game, which explains the silence. Turns out, 007 First Light is going to be Bond’s origin story – showing us how he became 007 and that famous, smooth spy we all know. Because of that, the game will focus on a younger Bond, but it’s shaping up to be a really action-packed adventure, which I’m excited about!
007 First Light to Get New Look This Week

We’ll be getting a fresh look at the new James Bond game, 007 First Light, later this week. It’s been confirmed that the game will be featured at an Xbox event on Thursday, November 20th at 1 PM Eastern Time. While other games will also be showcased, 007 First Light is expected to be the main highlight. We’ll likely see gameplay footage and hopefully get confirmation that the game is still on track for its March release date.
After seeing the initial gameplay of 007 First Light, a lot of us were a little worried. The frame rate wasn’t great, and it felt like the game might need a bit more polish before launch. But hey, they’ve had around seven months to work on it since then, which should be enough time to fix those performance hiccups. Considering how many huge games are coming out in 2026, I’m guessing we won’t see 007 First Light until spring at the earliest.
