Crime shows are consistently popular, and a new series promises to be particularly realistic, especially in how it was developed. It’s being created by two incredibly famous Hollywood figures, making for a surprising and unexpected collaboration.
According to a new report from TMZ, Quentin Tarantino’s next project will be a 1930s crime drama, and he’ll be co-directing with Sylvester Stallone. People involved with the series say it will be a very accurate depiction of the era, filmed using cameras from the 1930s and presented in black and white.
What Is Tarantino and Stallone’s New Series Actually About?

We don’t have many specifics yet, but the new crime drama will be set in the 1930s. A recent report offered a glimpse of what to expect: a six-episode series with gangsters, showgirls, boxing, and music. While a lot remains unknown, these details give a good sense of the show’s atmosphere.
The report indicates Stallone will direct the series instead of acting in it, though no actors have been announced yet. Given both Tarantino and Stallone’s experience with historical projects, anticipation for the series is already building.
As a movie buff, I always enjoy seeing how directors play with different eras. Tarantino really nailed the late 1930s vibe in Inglourious Basterds, and it’s another example of how great he is at bringing together a fantastic cast. It’s interesting because Stallone also stepped into a gangster role back in 1975 with Capone, where he portrayed Frank Nitti. That one was also set in the 1930s, giving both films a similar feel.
Because Quentin Tarantino and Sylvester Stallone are leading the project and fully capturing the feel of that era, it’s quickly become one of the most eagerly awaited new shows. Now, everyone’s waiting to find out when it will premiere and which channel or streaming service will broadcast it.
