The upcoming *Secret Wars* storyline could potentially fulfill the promise of the *Avengers vs X-Men* event, especially if the X-Men are forced to battle for their lives. Alex Perez from *The Cosmic Circus* recently answered questions on the *Cosmic Circus* Discord server, and hinted at which X-Men characters might make it through the *Doomsday* event and reappear in *Secret Wars*-which is exciting news for fans.
Although details about the X-Men remain scarce, a recent question-and-answer session offered a small clue. When asked if the X-Men from the Fox universe would only appear in *Doomsday*, or also in *Secret Wars*, a representative simply stated that “Some will return for *Avengers: Secret Wars*.”
What Else Can We Hope For From Doomsday And Secret Wars?
Rumors are circulating about a possible return for Scarlet Witch, despite initial skepticism, including comments from Elizabeth Olsen herself. While Wanda Maximoff hasn’t appeared in live-action since her dramatic end in *Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness*, a comeback in *Doomsday* could connect to the X-Men. According to one source, the plan was to introduce a Wanda variant from the X-Men universe in *Avengers: Doomsday*. This version would take place in a reality where Magneto successfully rules Genosha, establishing a kind of “royal family” with Erik, Pietro, Wanda, and Polaris. This storyline would also align the character more closely with her comic book origins.
Regarding a possible storyline involving a variant of Wanda, Perez explained that while the idea has been considered since *Multiverse of Madness* and again with *Deadpool & Wolverine*, it hasn’t felt right because it would detract from the main story. The core focus, he said, is exploring the connection between Wanda and Erik as father and daughter. When asked about an early reveal of the full Doomsday X-Men team, he simply stated, “Not yet.” However, he offered a more thoughtful and evocative response when discussing a potential Magneto appearance and his motivations, describing a life spent endlessly searching for a safe haven, only to be repeatedly disappointed, leaving him increasingly broken with each failure.
