The Marvellous Miniature Workshop is returning for an extended second season.
The popular show, hosted by Sara Cox from BBC Radio 2 and made by EarlyBird, is returning with more than twice as many episodes as its first season – increasing from eight to twenty. Each episode will also be longer, now lasting 45 minutes.
The show features a team of miniature artists who lovingly recreate special buildings and places that hold personal meaning for people. Throughout the program, these contributors share the stories behind those locations with host, Kevin McCloud.
Cox expressed her excitement about the new series of Marvellous Miniature Workshop, saying she was thrilled about it.
She added: “It’s easily the most heartwarming & wonderful programme I’ve ever been involved with.”

Dom Bird, founder of EarlyBird, said he’s very happy Sara is back for another series on BBC One. He shared that it’s been wonderful to see such a positive reaction to The Marvellous Miniature Workshop, and EarlyBird is excited to produce this new, larger order for the BBC.
I’m so excited for these longer episodes! They’ll really let Sara delve deeper into the incredible world of our miniaturists, and I think it’s the perfect way to highlight how beautifully the show captures the wonder in even the tiniest details. It’s a truly magical program, and these extended episodes will allow viewers to fully appreciate the artistry.
The first season of ‘The Marvellous Miniature Workshop’ launched on BBC One in December and quickly gained popularity with both audiences and reviewers.

The first season featured detailed miniature sets, including a 1980s east London school classroom designed to evoke a teacher’s fond memories.
This episode featured the restoration of an old library in Manchester, and told the story of a couple who fell in love there.
