A new free-to-play game on PlayStation 5 is getting good feedback from players on the PlayStation Store. It’s a ‘console exclusive,’ meaning you can play it on other devices like phones and PCs, but not on competing consoles like Xbox or Nintendo – which is typical for most exclusive games these days. Notably, this game is already optimized for the upcoming PS5 Pro, offering enhanced visuals and performance right away, unlike many other PS5 games and even another recently released PlayStation exclusive.
The new PlayStation 5 exclusive game, Arknights: Endfield, is available for free on the PlayStation Store. After a couple of weeks, players are giving it positive reviews. Currently, it has a 4.03 out of 5-star rating on the PlayStation Store based on over 12,000 reviews. It also received a score of 80 out of 100 on Metacritic, and a 79 on the same platform – a very strong showing.
New Action RPG
Arknights: Endfield is a free-to-play action RPG with strategic gameplay, developed by the creators of the popular game Arknights. Many players may not realize that it’s actually a spin-off connected to the original Arknights, which first launched in 2019.
The game is set on Talos-II, a moon that’s been colonized by companies. You play as the administrator of Endfield Industries, who wakes up with amnesia and must investigate the secrets of Talos-II.
As with most free-to-play games, Arknights: Endfield offers a lot of content. You can expect to spend around 50 hours to finish the main story, and nearly 200 hours if you aim to complete everything. However, like other free games, be prepared for some repetitive gameplay, especially if you don’t plan on spending money on in-game purchases.
