The release of the upcoming video game, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction, has been pushed back to sometime in 2026. The game, a retro-style 2D beat ’em up developed by Bitmap Bureau and published by Limited Run Games, is set in the world of He-Man. While fans were excited about the game after it was announced last year, they’ll now have to wait a bit longer to play it.
Limited Run Games announced on social media that the release of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction has been delayed with no new date set. This is unexpected, as the game was originally scheduled to launch on April 28th. Limited Run Games has only stated that the game will now be released sometime this summer.
Hey everyone, just wanted to give a quick update on He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction. We’re almost finished with development, but we’ve decided to take a little more time to polish things up. We really want to make sure this game lives up to the hype for both longtime fans and new players, so we’re taking the extra time to make it the best experience possible. Thanks for sticking with us – we appreciate your patience!
This He-Man Delay Could Be For the Better

Okay, so the delay for He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction might actually be a good thing. It gives the developers more time to polish the game and make it even better. Plus, it looks like we might be getting the game around the same time as the new Masters of the Universe movie! That movie is supposed to be huge this summer, hitting theaters June 5th, and having both drop around the same time could be awesome for the franchise.
If Dragon Pearl of Destruction is released around the same time as Masters of the Universe, the movie’s popularity could drive a lot of people to buy the game quickly. This would likely mean more success for Limited Run Games with this title, and could potentially lead to more He-Man games being made in the future.
The game He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction will be released on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
