New Nintendo Switch Console Exclusive Is the #2 Highest-Rated Game of 2026

A recently released game exclusive to the Nintendo Switch is currently the second highest-rated game of the year. While it’s still early in the year, this is a significant accomplishment for a console that’s nine years old and has been superseded by the Switch 2 for over six months. Notably, the game isn’t available on the Switch 2; it runs on the original Switch through backward compatibility. In fact, the Switch is the only console where you can play it, aside from a version on Steam.

Currently, the top-rated game of 2026 is a PC exclusive called Mewgenics. Close behind is a Nintendo Switch exclusive, Perfect Tides: Station to Station, which has a Metacritic score of 87. However, even more impressive than the score is its perfect 100% approval rating on Steam.

New Point n’ Click Adventure Game

Perfect Tides: Station to Station, created by Three Bees, is the follow-up to their 2022 game, Perfect Tides. While the original was a smaller game, players who tried it loved it, giving it a 97% positive rating on Steam.

Three Bees describes Perfect Tides: Station to Station as a game about the ups and downs of growing up. Players take on the role of Mara, an 18-year-old from the previous game, as she navigates life in a bustling city. Throughout the game, you’ll meet different people, build complicated relationships, develop new ideas, and gather items – all while helping Mara figure out her path in life.

I saw a top review on Steam that basically said this game was one of the best they played all year. They really loved how it looked, especially the graphics, and thought the story was fantastic – some parts were so good, they said they’ll remember them for a long time.

Someone else described it as beautifully written, comparing it to a blend of the HBO show Girls and the video game Disco Elysium – a combination that explores complex family dynamics.

If you’re considering this new adventure game based on its Metacritic score or the reviews, it costs $20. While the total playtime is still being reported, most players have spent between 10 and 15 hours playing it so far.
