The anime One Piece is heading to Elbaph in its next episode, and a new trailer suggests a major character will finally appear. The series has been focusing on the Elbaph arc since new episodes began airing earlier this month, but so far, Luffy and the Straw Hat crew have been battling their way out of a strange, block-built kingdom. That’s about to change, though.
In the latest episode of One Piece, Luffy and his crew escaped the kingdom of Alabasta and are now heading towards Elbaph, the legendary island of the giants. Fans have also been anticipating the introduction of a key character, Loki, and it looks like he’ll finally appear in Episode 1160. Check out a preview of the episode below!
One Piece Episode 1160 Confirms Release Date & Time
Episode 1160 of One Piece, titled “An Encounter on a Snowfield – Loki, the Accursed Prince,” will premiere in Japan on May 3rd. Fans can stream it on Crunchyroll the same day, with Netflix releasing the episode later in the month. The preview shows the Straw Hats escaping the Block Kingdom and entering a vast, snowy landscape with a huge bridge.
The latest trailer ends with a dramatic question: will the future bring paradise or disaster? Luffy’s solo journey uncovers the origin of a frightening roar, which is revealed to belong to Loki. Voiced by Yuichi Nakamura, known for his role as Satoru Gojo in Jujutsu Kaisen, Loki is a highly anticipated new character and a key addition to the anime adaptation of the Elbaph arc from Eiichiro Oda’s original manga. Fans won’t have to wait much longer to see him in action.
Who Is Loki in One Piece?
It’s hard to talk about Loki’s role without giving away spoilers, but he’s central to the Elbaph Arc. Like many arcs in One Piece, a key character often forms a strong connection with Luffy and significantly impacts the story. These characters sometimes become recurring figures in the series, or even join Luffy’s crew – and fans are hoping that will be the case with Loki.
It’s hard to predict what role Loki will play in the story, especially with Oda continuing to develop the Elbaph arc. The anime has only hinted at the full scope of his character, and he’s poised to become much more prominent. We’ll have to wait and see how the series utilizes him after this initial introduction.
