Pixar’s newest movie is still doing very well in theaters, continuing the success it had when it first came out. However, the latest Scream movie has seen a big drop in ticket sales after its opening weekend. Recent numbers show how both films are performing in the US and around the world.
Hoppers continues big box office success
For the second weekend in a row, “Hoppers” was the most popular movie in the US, earning $28.5 million from 4,000 theaters, as reported by Box Office Mojo. The film debuted at number one last week and has held that position.
Despite falling 37.2% from its opening weekend of $45.3 million, the film remained the number one movie in the country. After its first two weekends in theaters, the Walt Disney Studios release had earned a total of $86.8 million domestically.
Okay, so this animated comedy had a really strong opening! It averaged about $11,337 per theater its first weekend, which is great. Then, it held pretty well into its second weekend, bringing in around $7,125 per theater. It launched on March 6th, 2026, and was playing in a lot of theaters – over 4,000 – right from the start. As a movie fan, that kind of wide release usually means they’re confident it’ll do well!

Scream 7 faces second major drop in third weekend
