A recent rumor suggests the new Pokémon Winds and Waves games will introduce a Pokémon with a rare type combination, something not commonly seen in the series. When these Generation 10 games were announced in February, details were scarce. So far, the only confirmed new Pokémon are the starter trio: Pombon, Gecqua, and Browt. While we expect more new Pokémon to be revealed as the 2027 release date approaches, a new rumor hints at what fans can expect from at least one unique addition to the Pokédex.
A reliable source, BGuy, has revealed that the upcoming Pokemon Winds and Waves will introduce a new Pokemon with both Poison and Dragon abilities. This Pokemon is expected to play a significant role in the game, possibly even being central to the story. Many believe its design will resemble a Komodo dragon.
If this information is correct, it’s significant that a new Poison/Dragon type Pokémon would be appearing in Pokémon Winds and Waves. This particular type combination is quite rare – only a few Pokémon have it. The most well-known example is probably Eternatus, which was introduced in Pokémon Sword and Shield. Besides Eternatus, Dragalge and Naganadel are the only other Poison/Dragon type Pokémon currently available.
Okay, so we definitely don’t know if this is real yet, and we’ll probably have to wait a while to find out. But honestly, there’s been a ton of leaks about Pokemon Winds and Waves over the last year, and a lot of them have already turned out to be true. So, if this new rumor pans out, I wouldn’t be shocked at all!
The new Pokémon game, Pokémon Winds and Waves, is scheduled to come out in 2027, but only on the Nintendo Switch 2. However, recent information suggests the release might be delayed to later in the year, and we likely won’t hear any more details about the game until 2027.
