A recently released, free-to-download RPG exclusive to PlayStation 5 is proving popular with players. In just a few days, the open-world game has earned a 4.29 out of 5-star rating (equivalent to 86 out of 100) from over 9,100 reviews on the PlayStation Store. Currently, it’s the second most downloaded game on the store, surpassed only by Roblox, and is performing better than games like Fortnite, Pragmata, and Saros.
The recently released open-world RPG, NTE: Neverness to Everness from Hotta Studio and Perfect Entertainment, is primarily a PlayStation 5 exclusive. While it’s also available on PC and mobile, those versions came after the console release. Since the free-to-play game doesn’t have a Metacritic score yet, we’re relying on player reviews from the PlayStation Store to get an idea of how good it is. Based on those reviews and the game’s growing popularity, it seems to be receiving positive feedback.
A Supernatural Open-World RPG
Like other free-to-play games, NTE: Neverness to Everness lets you enjoy the full experience without spending any money. You can unlock the story, explore the world, and play all the core features without hitting a paywall. It’s easy to pick up and start playing, but mastering the game and getting the most out of it takes effort. While you can definitely progress without spending money – especially if you follow the developers for free rewards and play consistently – the game is designed to encourage purchases.
The game is set in the made-up city of Hethereau, and you play as the very first Anomaly Hunter who doesn’t have a license. You’ll join a team at the Eibon, an antique shop that earns money by taking on jobs related to strange anomalies. Along the way, you’ll meet a diverse group of characters, explore a vibrant, neon-lit city, solve urban mysteries, and battle anything that stands in your path.
The game has been very well-received on the PlayStation Store, with 74% of users giving it a perfect 5-star rating. Most other players also rated it highly – 8% gave it 4 stars, and 4% gave it 3. However, around 12% of players gave it just 1 star. Overall, it seems the vast majority of PlayStation users are enjoying the game, though, like many games of this type, a small percentage of players aren’t connecting with it.
