New Remake of One of Ubisoft’s Best Games Ever Leaks Ahead of Reveal

A leaked announcement reveals Ubisoft is remaking another one of its classic games. The company has been focusing on revisiting its popular titles recently, as seen with the upcoming remakes of Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced and the original Splinter Cell. It appears they’re continuing this pattern by giving another beloved game a modern update, much to the delight of fans.

A logo for a remake of Rayman Legends, officially titled Rayman Legends: Retold, recently appeared online thanks to leaker @intercelluar on X. The game appears to be a modernized version of the classic platformer, built for newer gaming systems. Ubisoft is reportedly developing it under the internal codename “Project Steambot,” but no gameplay details have been revealed yet.

First released in 2013 for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, and PC, Rayman Legends has since been made available on many other systems. As a follow-up to Rayman Origins, it kept the same fun gameplay but with even more creative and imaginative levels. Critics loved it – Rayman Legends has an impressive 92/100 average score on Metacritic, making it one of Ubisoft’s best-reviewed games ever. That’s why the recent announcement of a remake is such significant news for the company.

Ubisoft hasn’t officially commented on the recent leak, and probably won’t for a while. However, considering the leaker’s history, the logo is almost certainly real. This means Ubisoft could announce Rayman Legends: Retold in the coming days or weeks. With major gaming events like Summer Game Fest, the Xbox Games Showcase, and PlayStation’s State of Play happening soon, this Rayman Legends remake is a strong possibility to be revealed at one of them.

While fans wait for the updated Rayman Legends, Ubisoft recently released a refreshed version of the original Rayman to celebrate its 30th anniversary. This Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition is available now on modern platforms and includes improvements and extra levels, offering plenty to play in the meantime.
