Ubisoft is creating a new Star Wars game, but it’s probably not what you’re expecting. While fans are already looking forward to several other Star Wars games currently in development – including remakes of Knights of the Old Republic and Galactic Racer, as well as new titles like Zero Company and Fate of the Old Republic – a different Star Wars game will be released soon. This new game will connect to one of the most popular games ever made.
Ubisoft just announced a new version of Monopoly called Monopoly: Star Wars Heroes vs. Villains, along with a short preview trailer. This edition puts a team-based spin on the classic board game, letting players team up as their favorite Star Wars characters. Players will work in groups of two or three, each with special abilities, to try and dominate the board. Confirmed characters so far include Obi-Wan Kenobi, Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Kylo Ren, Darth Maul, Rey, and Princess Leia, with many more from the Star Wars movies and TV series expected to join them.
We don’t have all the details on how Monopoly: Star Wars Heroes vs. Villains will play just yet, but those questions will be answered next month. Ubisoft will be streaming a showcase of the game on April 29th, giving potential players a clear look at how its new features fit into the classic Monopoly gameplay.
This Star Wars Game Will Release Soon
The exciting thing about Monopoly: Star Wars Heroes vs. Villains is that it comes out in less than three months! You’ll be able to play on June 11th on almost any platform – including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC – and it will cost $29.99.
Even though it might not be the Star Wars game everyone is hoping for, Monopoly: Star Wars Heroes vs. Villains seems like it could be a really enjoyable game to play with friends. If you’re a fan of Monopoly, this is definitely one to watch for in the coming months.
