At this point, I think we can safely say Street Fighter 6’s next PS5 update is going to be huge.
Releasing on May 28th, the update will add Ingrid as a playable character and introduce a new game mode centered around characters created by players.
But now we have confirmation of four new skins for Sagat, C. Viper, Alex, and Ingrid.
Let’s start by talking about the outfit: Ingrid’s Outfit 3 is a maid costume that takes some inspiration from the DarkStalkers video game series.
If you’ve played Capcom Fighting Evolution – and many weren’t fans – you’ll remember it includes characters from Street Fighter, Darkstalkers, and Red Earth.
The game features Demitri from Vampire Savior, and one of his moves, called Midnight Bliss, can change what an opponent is wearing. When he uses it on Ingrid, she ends up dressed in a maid costume.
That’s a nice reference for fans who’ve followed Street Fighter for a long time, and it also subtly hints at the Darkstalkers series. Honestly, I’m happy to see any connections at this point.
To be honest, I mostly like all the new skins, although I’m not so hot on C. Viper’s dress.
