According to trusted sources, Sony is expected to hold another State of Play livestream in roughly the next seven weeks. This information comes from leaker Nate the Hate, who responded to a question on social media about upcoming PlayStation announcements and whether they would be shared in a YouTube video.
According to a recent leak, a new video is expected to be released shortly after the next State of Play presentation, which is scheduled to happen before June. This information comes from sources who spoke with Nate the Hate, but the specific release date hasn’t been confirmed.
Sony’s State of Play presentations have consistently happened in May since they began in 2019. The only exceptions were in 2020 and 2025, when the events were held just a few days into June.
Therefore, a State of Play taking place next month is an incredibly safe bet.
Microsoft is holding an Xbox Games Showcase on June 7th, and the Summer Game Fest is happening on June 5th. Sony usually reveals its plans a few weeks before these events, and it looks like they’ll follow that pattern again this year.
Sony’s upcoming presentation will likely give us another glimpse of the highly anticipated Marvel’s Wolverine, which is set to release on September 7, 2026. Insomniac Games previously promised a new look this spring. Given the importance of this May livestream – typically one of PlayStation’s biggest events – we might also see announcements for Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet from Naughty Dog, and potentially Marvel Tokon, both developed by PlayStation Studios.
We can expect a lot of game announcements, with reveals from the game developers themselves mixed in with news from other sources. Capcom might finally announce a release date for Onimusha: Way of the Sword, and we’ll likely get an update on Phantom Blade Zero as well.
