Star Fox has been generating a lot of buzz lately, from a cameo in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie to speculation about a new game in the classic style potentially launching this summer. Nintendo is planning a major presentation in June, but they might reveal the news about Star Fox even sooner – and we’re wondering exactly how soon that might be.
So, I’ve been following this rumor from NateTheHate, and he’s saying we might hear something – maybe as soon as this month – through Nintendo Today or on Twitter. He double-checked to make sure he meant April, but he also warned us not to hold our breath for an official announcement. Honestly, I’m okay with that! A surprise reveal is way more exciting if it actually happens, right?
The most recent main installment in the Star Fox series was Star Fox Zero, released in 2016 for the Nintendo Wii U with help from PlatinumGames. While it received mixed reactions, many players found the controls, particularly those using the GamePad, difficult to master. Since then, there haven’t been any new main Star Fox games, but with Fox McCloud appearing in a recent movie, it looks like that might be about to change.
Nintendo hasn’t said for sure if they’re working on a new Star Fox game. The last big Star Fox news was including the never-before-released Star Fox 2 with the Super NES Classic. While we don’t know much about a potential new game, those working on it say it’s going to be very funny. Keep checking back for more information!
I said StarFox will be announced this month via Nintendo Today or Twitter.
