I’m so excited – a new Tomb Raider game is about to be revealed! But honestly, I’m a little worried it might not be exactly what fans are hoping for. It’s been a while since we got a proper, big adventure – the last one, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, came out in 2018, and it felt like it wrapped up Lara Croft’s origin story. We’ve had some remasters and even an anime series since then, which are cool, but so many of us are really craving a full-blown, cinematic continuation of her adventures. Hopefully, we’ll find out more really soon!
As a huge Tomb Raider fan, I’m so excited to hear that a new game is actually in development! It’s being published by Amazon, which is a little different, but I’m still hopeful. Crystal Dynamics has been quietly working on it for a while now, and honestly, it’s killing me that we haven’t seen anything yet. From what I’ve heard, they’re going for a Lara Croft who’s a bit older and more experienced, someone who’s definitely capable but maybe won’t be quite as relentlessly brutal as she was in the last trilogy. The coolest part? It sounds like the game and the new live-action TV show with Sophie Turner are going to connect somehow, which could be amazing!
New Tomb Raider Will Be Revealed at The Game Awards and it May Be a Remake
Okay, so Geoff Keighley just announced that we’re finally getting a new Tomb Raider reveal at The Game Awards! He didn’t say what it is exactly, but dropped a teaser image with Lara’s silhouette, which is awesome. It comes on the heels of rumors from a Tomb Raider fan account saying it might be a remake of the very first game. That would be cool, but honestly, a lot of us are hoping for something completely new. We’ll find out soon enough!

Fans are eager for an update on the next major Tomb Raider game. There’s also been a lot of discussion about whether the rumored remake will be a simple visual upgrade or a complete rebuild of the game. We don’t know for sure, but we’ll likely find out soon at The Game Awards on December 11th. It’s possible both the remake and a preview of the next main game will be shown, but one might receive more attention than the other. The remake could also serve as a temporary release while players wait for the full sequel.
