Well-known gaming source Nate the Hate reports that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is currently slated for release on the Switch 2 in 2026. Expedition 33, which came out just over a year ago, was a huge hit with both critics and players for Sandfall Interactive. It was so popular, it won nearly every Game of the Year award and is now considered one of the most highly praised video games ever made.
The game has been so popular that many Nintendo Switch 2 owners have wished they could play it too. Currently, Expedition 33 is only available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. However, a version for the Switch 2 is coming soon, which means those players will be able to enjoy it before long.
It’s good news that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is planned for the Nintendo Switch 2, but it was unexpected that it wasn’t announced during the recent Nintendo Direct presentation. This suggests the game might not be released until late 2026, which is likely why Sandfall, the developer, is holding off on a formal announcement. They might reveal it at Gamescom, a large gaming convention in August, or potentially during Nintendo’s usual September Direct presentation.
