For many gamers, the Super Nintendo was their first home video game console. Even though these games are now decades old, a lot of people still enjoy playing them. The Nintendo Switch Online service lets Nintendo fans do just that, offering access to classic games originally released on the NES and SNES. Recently, Nintendo added three more titles to this growing collection of retro games.
The basic Nintendo Switch Online membership gives you access to a library of classic NES and SNES games – you don’t need the more expensive Expansion Pack for those. Nintendo is adding to that collection, and SNES fans now have three more retro titles to enjoy on both the Nintendo Switch and the new Switch 2. Starting October 8th, subscribers can play *Mario & Wario*, *Bubsy in: Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind*, and *Fatal Fury Special*.
Nintendo Leans into Mouse Controls for Mario & Wario In Latest SNES Additions to NSO

Players who enjoyed these classic Super Nintendo games will be thrilled to play them again on the Nintendo Switch. The game collection itself looks like a strong offering. Plus, *Mario & Wario* will support mouse controls for those with a Nintendo Switch 2. Otherwise, these retro games are largely unchanged from the originals and are now available on both Switch and Switch 2.
Fatal Fury Special is an updated arcade version of the original Fatal Fury 2, originally released on the SNES. If you enjoy classic arcade fighting games, this is a great way to experience a retro favorite. It used to cost $7.99 to purchase, but now it’s included with the Nintendo Switch Online subscription, making it a good value.
Bubsy in: Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind is the first game in the Bubsy series. Taking cues from popular platformers like Sonic the Hedgehog and Mario, it offers a similarly fast-paced experience. While some players find the controls a bit imprecise, it’s a fun revisit, especially considering it’s available for free.

Okay, so I was really excited to see *Mario & Wario* added! It’s a cool puzzle platformer where you play as Mario, but Wario’s constantly trying to stop you with all sorts of stuff he throws your way. The really unique thing about this game is that Mario is actually blind! You control a little fairy named Wanda, and you have to use her to clear obstacles so Mario can make his way through each level. Honestly, a lot of fans seem to think it’s the best new addition to the Nintendo Switch Online service. And because Wanda is controlled with point-and-click, I’m hoping it will play *really* well with the Switch 2’s mouse support!
As of October 8th, three beloved Super Nintendo games are now available on the Nintendo Switch Online Classics Library. If you have a standard Nintendo Switch Online membership, you can play them at no extra cost. You don’t need the more expensive Expansion Pack to access these classic NES and SNES titles, and they’re playable on both the original Switch and the new Switch 2 console.
