If you loved the original Resident Evil games, you should pay attention to a new horror title that’s been announced. Over the last twenty years, the Resident Evil series has shifted away from its scary, survival-focused beginnings and become more of an action-packed experience. While not every game has changed, the gameplay in the first Resident Evil is very different from a more recent title like Resident Evil Village. Luckily, if you’re hoping for a game that feels like those older, classic Resident Evil titles, this upcoming project might be just what you’re looking for.
Unclear Games recently announced The Florist, a new survival-horror game inspired by classic titles like the original Resident Evil, Resident Evil 2, and Resident Evil 3. Like those games, The Florist uses fixed camera angles that shift as you explore. Gameplay focuses on solving puzzles and dealing with frightening enemies – you’ll need to either evade them or fight them off.
You can get a look at the first trailer for The Florist as follows:
The game follows Jessica Park as she makes a delivery to the town of Joycliffe, located by a lake. What starts as a quick trip quickly turns dangerous when a deadly disease begins to spread. This illness causes plants to grow wildly, killing people and turning them into terrifying monsters. Jessica is one of the few survivors who understands what’s happening and is determined to save others and uncover the truth. To do so, she’ll have to survive the now-overgrown and deadly town of Joycliffe – a place that’s become a horrifying, living garden.
As of today, The Florist doesn’t have a specific release date, but it’s currently planned to launch sometime in 2026. When it does come out, it will be available on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
