Alysa Liu is deep in a golden lush life.
Following her gold medal win in the free skate at the 2026 Olympics, the figure skater returned to the ice for the Exhibition Gala, where she debuted a new routine set to the song “Stateside” by Zara Larsson and PinkPantheress.
Alysa was overjoyed when Zara, a TikTok star, acknowledged her in a post on February 22nd. The song selection had been exciting for both of them.
Alysa told TopMob News she was immediately impressed with Zara’s video, saying the positive reaction was exactly what she’d hoped for.
She explained that the quality of her programs relies heavily on the strength of the music, adding that she feels a strong personal connection to the songs she uses.
As Alysa explained, the music and the movement of her skating “go hand-in-hand.”
After returning to competition in 2024 and winning gold at the Olympics—the first American woman to do so in the figure skating final since 2002—Alysa has openly shared how much more at ease she feels while skating.
She explained to TopMob that she used to lack self-confidence and didn’t believe she could pursue opportunities outside of what was expected of her. This feeling lasted until she quit the sport at age 16.
That was the first time I really acted on my own instincts, and it had a ripple effect on how genuine I felt, ” Alysa explained.

Returning to competition feels different for her now, especially because she’s making her own decisions about how she competes.
Alysa explained that she feels free to pursue her own interests and has become more self-assured.
Her self-assurance also stems from being well-prepared both during training and in her personal life. That’s why she’s teamed up with Gillette Venus, the official razor sponsor of Team USA and the upcoming Milano Cortina Games.
She told TopMob she’s very particular about razors, and this one is her favorite. She uses it as part of her pre-competition routine on her skates, and she likes that it doesn’t dry out her skin. She considers it a high-quality razor.

With the Olympics now over, she’s looking forward to returning to her everyday routine and discovering what her life will be like moving forward.
She explained that she wants to maintain the same lifestyle she enjoys. “I really want things to stay calm and peaceful,” she said, emphasizing her desire to avoid unnecessary drama and keep her life as normal as possible.
