I’ve been watching the return of One Piece with its new season! They’ve started the Elbaph Arc and it’s kicked off with a fresh opening and ending theme. It seems One Piece is switching things up and moving to a seasonal release, meaning we’ll get 26 episodes each year now. The team at Toei Animation has hinted that while there will be fewer episodes, the overall experience will be quite different – and they’ve teased it’s going to be a good one!
The One Piece anime is continuing its coverage of the Elbaph Arc into the Spring 2026 schedule. While the first episode of this new story arc only hinted at what was to come, this week’s episode finally showed the characters arriving on Elbaph, officially beginning the arc. A brand new opening and ending theme song have also been released and are available to watch.
One Piece: Elbaph Arc Debuts New Anime Opening & Ending
The opening theme for the new One Piece: Elbaph Arc is called “Luminous” and is sung by Aina The End – you can watch it in the video above. The ending theme, “Sono Mirai” by 36km/h, is available in the video below. If you’re following the Elbaph Arc as new episodes come out, you can stream the anime on both Crunchyroll and Netflix throughout the rest of the year, as part of the Spring 2026 schedule.
Toei Animation has announced that the One Piece anime will now release 26 episodes each year. They’ve also stated that each episode will cover at least one chapter from Eiichiro Oda’s original manga. This is a faster adaptation rate than in the past, and combined with the high-quality animation we’ve seen recently, it suggests the anime is building towards a major event, along with other projects currently underway.
What’s Next for the Elbaph Arc in One Piece?
The latest arc of One Piece, titled ‘Elbaph,’ finally brings Luffy and the Straw Hat crew to the long-awaited island of the giants. After years of anticipation, Luffy and Usopp were excited to reach this legendary place, but their arrival was unexpected. Following some initial celebrations, the crew wakes up to discover that Luffy, Nami, Zoro, Sanji, and Usopp – along with their ship, the Thousand Sunny – have vanished, scattering the crew once again, a familiar pattern for their adventures.
Elbaf presents many ongoing mysteries as the story continues in Eiichiro Oda’s manga, making it difficult to predict what will happen next. The anime still has a lot of exciting content to adapt, and fans won’t want to miss future episodes.
