Only Murders In The Building Adds 2 Doctor Whos & 2 Harry Potter Favorites to Cast

The popular Hulu series Only Murders In The Building is heading to London for its sixth season! After five seasons taking place in New York City, the show will now be set across the Atlantic. This means new cast members will join Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez to bring a fresh, local flavor to the Emmy-winning comedy.

Season 6 of Only Murders In The Building is adding some big names to its cast as production gets underway! Hulu has announced that David Tennant and Jodie Whittaker, both known for playing the Doctor on Doctor Who, will be joining the show. They’ll be alongside other popular British actors like Nicola Coughlan (Bridgerton, Derry Girls), Jim Broadbent (Harry Potter), comedian Richard Ayoade, Adrian Lukis, and Kathryn Hunter (The Tragedy of Macbeth).

Two Former Doctor Whos Join Only Murders in the Building Season 6

Okay, so we don’t know who these new faces will be playing in Only Murders in the Building just yet, but the rumor that David Tennant and Jodie Whittaker – both Doctors from Doctor Who – could appear together is genuinely thrilling. Now, Doctor Who is famous for bringing different versions of the Doctor together to fight baddies, but Tennant and Whittaker never actually shared a scene. She didn’t regenerate into him, even though that happened on screen in 2022. So, as a fan, I’m already hoping the show gives us some kind of interaction between these two Doctors – it’s a pairing we’ve been waiting for!

Fans are thrilled at the possibility of seeing former Doctor Who actors David Tennant and Peter Capaldi share screen time in Only Murders in the Building. This might be one of the few opportunities for them to appear together, as recent news isn’t positive for Doctor Who itself. Last week it was confirmed that the planned Christmas special has been cancelled, and showrunner Russell T Davies has left the series, ending things on a cliffhanger.

It’s currently unclear if or when we’ll see a new version of Doctor Who on TV, particularly now that plans with Disney have fallen through. For now, seeing former Doctors appear in other shows – even playing different kinds of characters – might be the best fans can hope for to satisfy their craving for Doctor Who content.

This is a developing story..
