After restructuring its business and how games are made, Ubisoft announced that three experienced leaders will now oversee the future of the Assassin’s Creed series. They’ll be working under a new division called Vantage Studios.
Variety and Ubisoft’s official blog both reported the news, which likely means Ubisoft is trying to improve its public image. However, these new appointments do appear to be a positive change.
For those who enjoy the historical series, Jean Guesdon is now in charge of all creative decisions for the franchise. He’ll be the one guiding its future direction.
Jean Guesdon led the creative direction for both Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag and Assassin’s Creed Origins, which are considered two of the best games in the Assassin’s Creed franchise.
Martin Schelling will now lead the overall brand strategy. He brings extensive experience to the role, previously serving as Chief Production Officer at Ubisoft where he oversaw several successful Assassin’s Creed games, including Revelations, Black Flag, Origins, and Valhalla.
Finally, we have François de Billy, who’s now in charge of production excellence. Essentially, he’ll be ensuring our development projects stay on schedule.
de Billy managed the production of both Origins and Valhalla.
With Ubisoft working on multiple Assassin’s Creed games, they have a busy period ahead of them.
