In 2024, DC attempted to break into the live-service genre with “Suicide Squad: Take Down the Justice League,” developed by Rocksteady Studios – known for Batman: Arkham series. However, this game, released after nine years of silence from the studio, fell flat. Despite the game featuring Rocksteady’s renowned storytelling, the overall experience was peculiar. It aimed to blend elements of a looter shooter with an ongoing narrative delivered through seasonal content, which proved to be a strange combination. Unfortunately, “Suicide Squad: Take Down the Justice League” received insufficient support, and many hoped its underperformance would serve as a cautionary tale about forcing live-service aspects into a game without proper planning.

On July 11th, Superman made its debut, setting a two-week lead over First Steps which started on Friday, July 25th. During their initial weekends, they were quite evenly matched, but Superman has since surpassed First Steps in total earnings. At the moment, the film is projected to have amassed $503.6 million in profits, almost twice its production cost of $225 million. Whether First Steps will reach the same level in two weeks remains to be seen, along with how long either movie will continue playing in cinemas.

While ‘The Immortal Hulk’ is indeed a fantastic comic book, ‘The Immortal Thor,’ penned by Ewing with artists Martin Coccolo and Jan Bazaluda, surpasses it for 25 issues. This series skillfully combined fresh concepts with classic themes, making it an outstanding Thor saga. ‘The Immortal Thor’ concluded with Thor’s demise and will be reborn as ‘The Mortal Thor,’ promising a fresh start. Despite the greatness of ‘The Immortal Hulk,’ ‘The Immortal Thor’ outshines it significantly, and it’s high time we acknowledge this fact.

It’s about time that Bowser got his own standalone game; he has been a significant figure in the Mario universe for many years now, serving primarily as the main antagonist for several decades. Considering the rarity of games featuring villains as playable characters, it would be groundbreaking to have such a well-known and iconic bad guy like Bowser take center stage.
