
Following a significant internal restructuring at Ubisoft that has upset many employees, more details are coming out about projects that have been cancelled, including Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake. According to a report by Insider Gaming’s Mike Straw, another cancelled project is Pathfinder (previously known as Project U).
The cooperative shooter game, where players choose from four unique heroes to fight waves of robotic enemies, had a limited test on PC in February 2024. After that, Ubisoft didn’t release much information, and it appears the test didn’t go as well as they’d hoped.
Several other projects have also been cancelled, including a mobile game called Assassin’s Creed Singularity that was in development for about two years and intended to eventually come to PC. Another cancelled game was a World War 2-based extraction shooter called Project Crest. Ubisoft Halifax’s Project Aether was reportedly cancelled as well, but it’s now being developed as something new.
The mobile game Assassin’s Creed Rebellion is no longer being updated, according to reports. It originally launched in November 2018 and centered around the Spanish Assassins. Beyond this cancellation, Ubisoft announced that seven of its games have been delayed, including the remake of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, which is now expected to be revealed in April.
