The 1998 horror film Urban Legend, directed by Jamie Blanks, will soon be removed from the Tubi streaming service. While a specific date hasn’t been announced, the movie is listed as leaving the platform. A reboot of the film is also in the early stages of development at Screen Gems, and was confirmed in April 2025. Urban Legend takes place at a New England college, where students are being killed in ways inspired by common urban legends. It’s rare for Doctor Who to return to the same point in the future. While it has happened before – like in the classic story “The Ark,” where the TARDIS visited the same spaceship carrying refugees from Earth twice – it’s not common. Interestingly, Russell T. Davies recently created a three-part story arc that plays with this idea, even bringing back a character who originally died 19 years ago today.
As a huge fan of the A Song of Ice and Fire series, I was so excited when I saw this rumor going around online! It started on 4Chan, claiming someone at the publisher, Bantam Spectra, had let slip that The Winds of Winter was finished, we’d hear something at Comic-Con, and it would be out this fall. I really wanted to believe it, even though a lot of us were cautious. Unfortunately, Bantam just released a statement to Entertainment Weekly saying it’s all false. It’s really disappointing, but at least we have a clear answer – even if it’s not the one we were hoping for.
