Warner Bros. Pictures Animation and New Line Cinema are releasing a new Hello Kitty movie on July 21, 2028. The studios announced that this will be Hello Kitty’s first time appearing in a major theatrical release, promising an adventure for audiences of all ages. Details about the plot are currently unknown, as is whether the film will be fully animated or a combination of animation and live-action. While Hello Kitty has starred in movies and animated series before, this new project highlights the growing popularity of anime in North America. The film will be directed by Leo Matsuda, known for his work on Wreck-It Ralph and Big Hero 6, and the screenplay is by Dana Fox, who has written for Wicked, Cruella, and How To Be Single.

Episodes 3 and 4 feel a bit slower-paced than the first two episodes of Dispatch. While the beginning had lots of action and detailed cutscenes, these later episodes feature fewer fights – there are no quick time events – and focus more on dispatch sequences. This change in focus isn’t inherently negative, but it does impact the rhythm of the story and the amount of narrative that unfolds.
