I recently read an interview with Crunchyroll’s CEO, Rahul Purini, and he seemed very confident about *Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle*’s chances of winning an Academy Award. While no action-packed ‘shonen’ anime has ever taken home an Oscar, Purini believes this film is special. He told The Hollywood Reporter he thinks the animation, story, and overall quality are outstanding, and that the fans deserve to see it recognized. Crunchyroll plans to actively support the film’s consideration in all eligible categories.
