Paramount+ is adding some classic comedy this November, including a hilarious film from 2012. The streaming service is updating its selection of movies and shows for the new month, joining popular titles like Top Gun: Maverick and 1923. The new additions, available starting November 1st, include a comedy that’s just as funny today as it was over a decade ago.
Fans of action-comedy can now watch 21 Jump Street on Paramount+. This movie is a fresh take on the classic ‘80s TV show, starring Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum as two goofy cops who go undercover as high school students to take down a drug operation. Directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, it also features Brie Larson, Dave Franco, Rob Riggle, and Ice Cube. Critics loved it – it’s “Certified Fresh” on Rotten Tomatoes with an 85% rating! If you enjoy it, you can also stream the sequel, 22 Jump Street, on Paramount+.
21 Jump Street Is One of the Best Comedies of the 2010s
If you want a movie that’s consistently funny and entertaining, look no further than 21 Jump Street. The film’s success really comes down to the fantastic chemistry between Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum. They play off each other perfectly – Tatum as the cool, athletic type, and Hill as the awkward, bookish one – and their contrasting personalities are a constant source of humor. Hill is a proven comedian, and Tatum has surprisingly great comedic timing, which makes even simple jokes land really well. Together, they’re a truly memorable comedy duo and the reason this movie works so well.
Beyond the strong performances from Hill and Tatum and the rest of the cast, 21 Jump Street is consistently funny. It mixes smart, sarcastic writing with broad, physical comedy, and it playfully mocks the fact that it’s a remake of an old TV show. The movie’s plot – sending Schmidt and Jenko back into an 80s-style undercover program – actually stems from the police department having no other ideas, which is a self-aware joke about the film itself being a reboot.
What’s New on Paramount+?
November is a fantastic month for movie fans on Paramount+. Starting November 1st, the service added popular films like 21 Jump Street, Blades of Glory, Cujo, Dinner for Schmucks, and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. You can also now stream the entire Bridget Jones series, both G.I. Joe movies, and four out of the five Indiana Jones films.
