Paris Jackson Says Bond With Michael Jackson Is “No One’s Business”

Michael Jackson’s daughter Paris Jackson thinks her critics can beat it.

The singer of “Let Down,” who was eleven years old when Michael Jackson passed away in 2009, recently said she doesn’t feel the need to publicly discuss her relationship with him anymore.

Paris recently shared that she’s realized she can have a private, personal relationship and is choosing to keep the details to herself. She described the relationship as incredibly special and fulfilling.

The 28-year-old explained she’s found peace and happiness in her relationship with her father, and she’s choosing to keep that private. She feels liberated by not having to share those personal details with anyone, and she finds that very empowering.

Paris Jackson previously shared that she used to feel pressured to publicly acknowledge her father, Michael Jackson—who is also the father of Prince, 29, and Bigi, 24—on his birthday, the anniversary of his death, and Father’s Day.

Things have really shifted for me lately, honestly. I’ve come to realize I don’t feel any obligation to anyone anymore – we’re all just living our own lives, and that’s okay.

Plus, Paris emphasized she didn’t want to “mimic how a fan would express their love” for her dad. 

I won’t show my love for him by imitating others who didn’t truly know him,” she said. “I did know him. He was my best friend.

Lately, Paris Jackson has become more open about her relationship with her mother, Debbie Rowe. They reconnected when Paris was fifteen and have shared a close connection ever since.

The singer-songwriter shared on Red Table Talk in 2021 that she enjoys being friends with this person. She said it’s been great getting to know her and realizing how much they have in common, especially discovering her taste for country and folk music. She even sent her some of her own new music to listen to.

Paris and her mother remain close. She jokingly shared on Instagram earlier this month that she and her mom are so alike, it’s like her mother was the original model for her! She wrote, “Happy Mother’s Day to the lady they used for my template during the cloning process.”

As a huge Michael Jackson fan, it was amazing to see so much of the family together at the premiere of the Michael movie in Los Angeles on April 20, 2026! Prince, Michael’s oldest son, was there, along with his uncle Marlon, cousin Jaafar, and aunts and uncles Jackie, La Toya, and Jermaine. It really felt like a celebration of Michael’s life and legacy.

Oh my gosh, I can’t believe I saw Bigi Jackson – Prince Michael Jackson II, you guys! – at his uncle’s art show in Berlin on April 10th, 2026! He was there with his big brother, Prince, and his amazing uncles, Marlon and Jackie. It was incredible! I nearly fainted when I saw him – he looks so much like his father! I have the photo to prove it, of course. It was a dream come true!

Molly Schirmang is Prince’s fiancée. The couple announced their engagement in August 2025, following eight years together. Prince shared on Instagram that he and Molly have created wonderful memories through travel, completing their education, and growing as individuals. He expressed his excitement for their future together and continuing to build a life filled with cherished moments.

Paris Jackson joined brothers Prince and Bigi at the opening night of MJ: The Musical in March 2024.

Bigi launched his filmmaking career with the short film Rochelles. In February 2024, he and his brother Prince, along with friends, attended the Santa Monica Film Festival where they accepted the Best Drama award.

Prince and Bigi appeared at their family’s annual Thriller Night celebration in 2022.

In August 2018, Prince and Paris Jackson celebrated Michael Jackson’s birthday at a special event held at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.

Oh my gosh, you guys, I was dying when I saw pictures of Prince and Paris at the Harold and Carole Pump Foundation Gala! It was in August 2022 at the Beverly Hilton in L.A., and they were there together – seriously, a full-on family night out! I just can’t get over how amazing they looked. It was such a special moment!

Proving he’s always in her heart, Paris appeared with Prince in a 2021 YouTube video. 

As a longtime fan, it was so heartwarming to see Prince and Bigi carrying on the family tradition at the 2019 Thriller Night celebration! Prince was rocking a hockey jersey, and Bigi showed off his love for superheroes with a Captain America shirt. It was a beautiful moment seeing them together, keeping their father’s legacy alive.

Prince shared on Instagram that he felt honored to be at his cousin Siggy Jackson’s wedding in September 2017, where he was with Paris.

In January 2012, three siblings went to see Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour, a Cirque du Soleil show, in Los Angeles.

They both looked fantastic leaving their hand and footprints at Graumann’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood – it’s such a classic way to be remembered, and a beautiful moment for them both.

Prince and Paris Jackson visited their father’s hometown of Gary, Indiana, in August 2012 for a press event promoting the ‘Goin’ Back To Indiana: Can You Feel It’ tour.

While visiting Michael’s hometown, Paris and Prince went to a baseball game between the Gary SouthShore RailCats and the St. Paul Saints.

At Michael’s memorial service in Los Angeles’ Staples Center in July 2009, his siblings supported each other.

On August 29, 2022, Prince celebrated his father’s birthday by posting a collection of family pictures on Instagram.

Prince wished a happy birthday to Michael Jackson, acknowledging what would have been the singer’s 64th birthday.

In a 2022 Instagram post, Prince expressed his feelings, writing, “I miss you more and more, but my love grows stronger every day.”
