Pauly D doesn’t want his daughter, Amabella, to watch his show, Jersey Shore.
The reality star confessed he’d be a little worried about his 12-year-old daughter watching the show, now that she’s getting older.
Pauly D recently shared with TopMob News that his daughter is permitted to watch the show Family Vacation, but he’s holding off on letting her see the original seasons of Jersey Shore.
Pauly is very determined to protect his daughter, Amabella—whom he co-parents with Amanda Markert—from seeing his past behavior on the show. He explained that he’s had to set up parental controls to prevent her from watching those earlier seasons.
However, the DJ isn’t opposed to Amabella appearing on reality television in the future. He’d actually be happy if she did, as long as it’s a show he feels is appropriate.
Pauly said they would need to discuss it further, and there might be some guidelines, but he fully supports her.
When Pauly’s co-star, Vinny Guadagnino, suggested Amabella apply to a show like Shark Tank, Pauly playfully agreed, saying, “Shark Tank would be a great fit. I’m all for supporting young entrepreneurs.”
Pauly generally prefers to keep his daughter’s life private, but he’s occasionally given fans a glimpse into their relationship, once mentioning how much she’s become his little copycat.
You know, when my daughter was little, she was obsessed with what I did! It was so sweet. I actually built her a whole DJ room – she was already getting into scratching records at a young age. She’s a really funny kid, and honestly, she just wanted to be right by my side, trying out everything I was doing. It was the cutest thing!
Two years ago, Pauly announced that getting Amabella a cell phone had significantly improved how they communicated.
The singer shared in May 2024 with People magazine that receiving an iPhone 15 for Christmas was a significant gift. She explained it helps her stay connected with someone she cares about, particularly when she’s on the road.
Pauly explained that he was setting some limits on his daughter’s phone use, specifically regarding the apps she uses and by taking the phone away if her grades slip.
He said his daughter isn’t old enough for TikTok. While she does watch kids’ videos on YouTube, he worries it’s pretty much the same thing, since they often feature the same kinds of dances.
He’s become more strict simply to protect Amabella, who is now Pauly’s main focus since her birth in 2013.
