John Cena stunned fans by disclosing his previous heavy consumption of Mountain Dew. During a recent interview on The Tonight Show, the popular actor and wrestling legend openly discussed this surprising fact about his dietary habits.
John Cena says he drank diet Mountain Dew for weeks
On August 13, John Cena graced The Tonight Show hosted by Jimmy Fallon. In an unexpected revelation, the Peacemaker actor disclosed some details about his unique eating habits during their appearance. As part of their segment, Cena engaged in a lively game of “Wild Guess” with Fallon.
During one turn, the pair decided to share an unusual personal trivia, with the challenge for the other to guess if it was truthful. It was during his turn that John Cena revealed an interesting fact – that he had consumed Diet Mountain Dew for several weeks straight.
Cena shared that for entire weeks at a time, he only consumed Diet Mountain Dew, which left Fallon perplexed. Initially doubting this due to Cena’s impressive physique, Fallon eventually speculated it might be true. After a suspenseful drumroll, Cena confirmed that Fallon’s guess was indeed accurate.
On several occasions, we’ve encountered reports about peculiar habits in Cena’s past history. In an interview with Denise Salcedo in 2024, WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry shared an incident where he gave Cena a ride to his hotel and observed his unusual behavior.
During his diet, Henry discovered that he hadn’t drunk any water for an entire week, instead opting for Diet Mountain Dew exclusively. This left him utterly amazed.
Over time, a recurring joke developed between those two WWE celebrities. “Whenever I run into him,” Henry said with a laugh, “‘Did you have your Diet Mountain Dew?’ He’d respond, ‘I was immature and reckless,'” referring to an old incident.
In simple terms, John Cena reappeared as the main character of the DC hero in the eagerly awaited second season of James Gunn’s Peacemaker. The premiere episode titled “The Ties That Grind” was released on Thursday, August 21, 2025.
