Every December, people love to watch holiday movies, and a few classics always make the list. Films like Home Alone, A Christmas Story, Elf, and It’s a Wonderful Life are replayed every year. While there haven’t been many truly great new Christmas movies lately, there’s one funny film from about ten years ago that deserved to become a holiday staple.
You know, I’ve always been a bit obsessed with The Night Before, that hilarious Christmas movie from 2015. It feels like nobody really talks about it, which is a shame! But good news – it just landed on Peacock on December 1st, right alongside classics like How the Grinch Stole Christmas. I’m really hoping this means more people will finally discover how funny it is – it definitely deserves a bigger audience after all these years.
If you haven’t seen it, The Night Before is a funny movie about three friends in New York City on a wild Christmas Eve quest to find the best party. While the story is straightforward, the movie really shines because of the great performances from its stars: Seth Rogen, Anthony Mackie, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
Unlike most Christmas movies aimed at adults, The Night Before is genuinely entertaining. Besides Bad Santa, there haven’t been many quality adult comedies centered around the holiday season.
