Peacock has added a chilling new movie to its streaming library just in time for Halloween. Throughout September, the service has been expanding its offerings, including popular titles like *The Paper* (a spin-off of *The Office*), *The Breakfast Club*, and *Reservoir Dogs*. The latest addition is a very successful horror film from 2024, but it might be too intense for some viewers.
The horror film *Terrifier 3* is now available to stream on Peacock as of September 1st. It continues the story of Art the Clown, Sienna Shaw, and Jonathan Shaw, picking up where *Terrifier 2* left off, but this time set during Christmastime. The movie has earned a “Certified Fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes with a 78% approval score from critics, and it was a huge financial success in 2024. *Terrifier 3* grossed $90.3 million worldwide on a budget of just $2 million, making it the most profitable installment in the *Terrifier* series and the highest-grossing unrated film ever.
Why Is Terrifier 3 So Controversial?
If you follow horror movies, you’ve probably heard of the *Terrifier* series. It’s become incredibly popular, and the villain, Art the Clown, has become a well-known horror icon. Starting as a series of short films in 2008, these movies are famous for their over-the-top visuals, dark humor, and Art’s incredibly violent and gory kills – which are often too much for some viewers. The *Terrifier* films are known for being controversial due to their extreme violence, and the latest installment, *Terrifier 3*, continues that trend, sparking debate among horror fans.
The latest *Terrifier* film has the highest audience score of the series on Rotten Tomatoes, with 85% of viewers enjoying it, but it’s also significantly more violent than previous installments. Some viewers have even become sickened by the extremely graphic and disturbing kills, and the opening scene was so intense that it caused some to leave the theater. While the *Terrifier* movies deliver on gore for fans of slasher films, they lack a strong story and well-developed characters, relying mostly on shocking violence. *Terrifier 3*, like its predecessors, will satisfy those looking for extreme horror, but its excessive violence and weak plot won’t appeal to everyone.
Other Horror Movies Now on Peacock
Peacock continues to expand its impressive library of horror films, and September brought a fresh batch of scary movies to the platform. New additions for September include classics like *The Birds* and *The Sixth Sense*, as well as more recent titles such as *The Craft: Legacy*, *Halloween III: Season of the Witch*, *The Haunting in Connecticut*, and *Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark*.
Get ready for a spooky October! Starting October 1st, a bunch of horror favorites will be available to stream, including *Edward Scissorhands*, *Fright Night*, *Krampus*, *Monster House*, and *The Purge*. Plus, you’ll be able to watch movies from the *Friday the 13th*, *Leprechaun*, and *Scream* series.
