Walker Scobell reveals why he won’t attend prom this year
Walker Scobell, the star of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, has decided not to go to prom. This decision comes after death threats were sent to girls who were rumored to be dates for him. Scobell explained on Instagram that he didn’t want to cause any harm to those girls or their families, so he’s skipping the event.
Scobell pleaded with people to stop sending death threats to teenage girls who might have some connection to him, even if it’s just that they live near him. He explained that it’s unfair to both the girls and their families, and added that sending death threats in general is unacceptable, noting he shouldn’t even have to say that.
Walker Scobell stars as Percy Jackson, the son of the Greek god Poseidon, in the new Disney+ and Hulu series based on Rick Riordan’s popular books. The show centers on Percy and his friends, who are also demigods, as they learn and train at Camp Half-Blood and embark on exciting, mythical adventures. The cast also features Leah Sava Jeffries, Aryan Simhadri, Charlie Bushnell, Dior Goodjohn, Daniel Diemer, and Glynn Turman.
The show’s first season came out in December 2023, and the second season followed in December 2025. The network decided to make a third season in March 2025, even before the second season had aired. Season 3 will be based on ‘The Titan’s Curse,’ the third book in Rick Riordan’s ‘Lightning Thief’ series.
Season 3 is anticipated to be released around late 2026. Actor Scobell shared the news on his Instagram Story this past Sunday, and fans have been sharing the announcement widely online.
